Jarrett was 17 years old when he walked into a small church called Calvary Chapel Modesto, heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and committed his life to Him. "My life has never been the same since," he recalls.  "The year was 1989, I was finishing my senior year of high school, wandering aimlessly – I was simply lost, searching for more than what the world was offering.  I had always known deep down within my heart that there had to be more to life than mere and meaningless existence."

"Looking back, I realize that my life was truly empty, lonely, and hopeless until that September morning when I heard for the first time that God is real and that he really loved me (personally) and that He had sent His Son to die for 'my sins,' and defeated death so that I could live forever with Him.  After attending and serving at Calvary Chapel Modesto for 11 years, I knew that God had a plan for my life. A plan that would lead me to follow Jesus completely and share the same message of God’s love to others the way that I had heard from my pastor – Damian Kyle.

"In 1999 - I sensed God calling our family to move to Southern California where I became an assistant staff pastor at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.  It was there that I grew as a servant and pastor with so many opportunities and life experiences that I am forever grateful to Pastor’s Chuck Smith and Brian Brodersen.

"By the year 2004 - God began to stir my heart again through prayer and His Word that soon led our family to move back to Northern California with a desire to see the Lord work the way we had witnessed Him work so faithfully through the ministry of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. In the Fall of 2006 that desire came true, after working on staff at a local church in Livermore we were led to start a home Bible study in San Ramon; which in turn led to starting Sunday services at the local community center.

"Presently, we have witnessed God’s faithfulness every step of the way and continue to lead a regular Sunday morning service at San Ramon Community Center, teaching verse by verse through the Bible, prayer meetings, fellowship groups, mid-week studies, Men’s and Women’s ministries and missions ministries.  One of my favorite Bible verses that God has used to sustain me in His call upon my life and in my walk with Christ has been, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.' Zech.4:6."
